Increase in Synthetic Drug Use, it Continues to be a Problem

Synthetic drugs are a combination of herbal and chemical products which, when consumed mimics the effects of cannabis. Since cannabis are illegal, people used to produce these synthetic cannabis under different names. Drug users also get used to these things since they are offering quite a similar effect as that of cannabis, easily accessible and most importantly they are legal.

However, after recognizing this, the government of many states even banned the use of synthetic cannabis. The latest news focused on the fact that despite the ban, these synthetic drug use is increasing and continues to be a problem.

Latest report from the Minnesota Department of Human Services shows synthetic drug use is up in the first part of this year. In the report collected by the department, males between the age group of 16-30 are the primary users of synthetic drugs even though they are aware of the fact that these drugs are more and more dangerous.

The ban called by the government only restricted the stores from selling the drug but dint control the drugs available on the streets. People are purchasing them on the internet, from foreign countries and many people are purchasing large quantities of drugs and selling them in the street at an increased price.

Besides these US senator also announced a bill that calls for a ban of synthetic drugs as well as some chemicals in them. At present there are 36 states which have a sort of legislation in banning these drugs.
