Audi Q3 Unveiled at Shanghai Auto Show-2011

Audi Q3 had a formal unveiling at Shanghai auto show. Recently it has released it teasers too. The Q3 will be built in Spain and will be sold in Europe in June, with a starting price of $43,000. It is the competitor for the BMW X1 and Range Rover’s Evoque, Honda CR-V and Toyota Fortuner.

It will be offered in Europe with a choice of four 2.0-liter four cylinder gas and diesel engines, all of them equipped with turbocharging, direct injection, stop start and energy recovery systems. Output ranges from 138 to 208 horsepower, and transmission choices include a six speed manual and a seven speed S tronic dual clutch automatic and it can seat 5 individuals comfortably. With seven speed S tronic, most potent 208 hp 2.0 TFSI with all wheel drive and optional shift paddles will sprint from zero to 60 in less than 6.9 seconds, with a top speed of 143 mph. The length of the car is 4440mm and its width is 1810mm and its height is 1640mm.

The interior of the car includes air conditioner that has dual zone climate control feature, electric adjustment of driver’s seat, dash integrated music system, adjustment of steering wheel, a panoramic glass sun roof, a storage package, sports seats and a three spoke leather steering wheel. A large curve, called as a wrap around, covers the driver and the front seat passenger. It has coupe like styling and it comes with a smaller grille and wedge shaped headlamps. The engine hood and tailgate are made of Aluminum, while the passenger compartment is constructed of a variety of ultra high strength steels. Car has many safety features which includes 4 airbags, rear seat belts, traction control, fog lamp and parking sensors, traction control, anti lock brake system, electronic brake force distribution feature and electronic stability program.
